During any spin, some randomly selected grid positions located on reels three to six may have a golden frame displayed around them. If any of the symbols that land within these positions are involved in a winning combination, then prior to the next cascade, that grid position will transform into a wild symbol. 

Interestingly, any wild symbol that lands on the grid or is activated through the Golden Frames feature becomes sticky, remains in place until the end of the spin, and can be used unlimited times. At the end of the spin, there is a chance that one or more of these wild symbols will activate and transform into a multiplier value, which can range from x2 to x100. This multiplier value will be applied to the total win value from that spin. If more than one of these multipliers is active, their total sum will be applied to the win value. 

Three scatter symbols landing on the grid during any one spin will trigger the free spins feature, awarding 15 spins. Any additional scatter symbols above the required three will award an extra two starting spins each.

I’ve played a lot of PG Soft titles as a reviewer, and I can confidently say that Mafia Mayhem is one of their best creations yet. The theme and graphic design are fantastic, and the gameplay is there to match. The Golden Frames and Sticky Wilds features add a high level of entertainment to the base game, which is engaging and often delivers big wins. The fact that a x100 wild multiplier can be revealed in standard play is also a major plus.

The free spins feature is where excitement levels peak, though. I couldn’t believe it when I read that all wild symbols reveal a multiplier, as they are not shy about coming out, often scattered everywhere across the screen. It took me a while to confirm this during testing as the feature is very tricky to trigger in my experience, taking almost 1000 spins, which is my only slight negative, but once it did, the potential was clear to see. A great slot.
