Before the invention of machinery and power tools, making things we take for granted today required a huge degree of skill. This was certainly the case with metalwork, and with the high demand for weapons such as swords and axes to fight the many wars of the past, a good blacksmith was essential. PG Soft have been inspired to forge a slot based on the skills of these impressive tradesmen; let’s see if their final product can make the cut. Forge of Wealth is a high volatility, six-reel, five-row video slot featuring a maximum win of 5,000x and an RTP of 96.74%.
Bending blocks of metal into shape meant heating the material to a very high level, and when you open up Forge of Wealth and see the graphics, you can almost feel the blast of heat from the bright orange glowing furnace of the workshop in which this game is set. The slot action takes place on a 6x5 grid, and a scatter pays mechanism is utilised. This is complimented by the popular cascading reels system, where all symbols involved in a winning combination are removed from the grid and replaced with new ones. One notable game enhancing feature is the inclusion of a multiplier system, with four separate special grid positions located on the reels that will award a x2 multiplier for every win that occurs on top of them when active. This feature is taken a step further in the free spins round, where these multipliers are accumulated, and their value is held between spins for the duration of the bonus.
It must have taken some real brute strength and skill to hammer metal into shape. If you’ve always fancied giving it a try yourself, it is probably worth doing some training first, so why not get warmed up on the Forge of Wealth demo slot? It’s available to play for free below!

The quality of the weapons, shields, and armour created in forges would have been crucial to an army’s ability to win a war. After all, if your sword breaks in half mid-battle, you’re probably not going to last long fighting with your fists, are you? Fortunately, there are some other games in the PG Soft catalogue where we can put these blacksmiths' work to the test. What better place to start than in the Roman Colosseum? Gladiators Glory is a five-reel game featuring a potential maximum win of 5,000x, where a strong sword could see you to victory here as the crowd roars in approval. Or, you could try some modern weaponry featured in Battleground Royale. Based loosely around popular video games such as Fortnite, it’s a 5-reel slot featuring a maximum win of 20,000x. Okay, before you head off to take on the world in those slots, let's learn more about Forge of Wealth, starting at the pays section.
To receive the highest payout value for each symbol, you’ll need 15 or more to land anywhere on the screen. This seems fairly achievable, considering that there are 30 grid positions available. The top value symbol is the Blacksmith, which will return an impressive prize of 100x your total stake for 15+ symbols. Next, it’s the Helmet at 50x, followed by the Crossed Swords and the Shield, which both pay 25x. The final premium symbols featured are the Hammer and the Anvil, which will both return 20x. The non-premium symbols listed on the paytable are the Spade, Heart, Club, and Diamond, which will all pay 10x every time 15+ symbols land on the grid.
Next, let's investigate the stake possibilities on Forge of Wealth. There are lots to choose from, and these start from a low of €0.20 and rise to a high of €100.00, with plenty of well-placed options between. With so many to pick from, there’s sure to be a suitable selection for every player.
Hammering down into the game mechanics now. There are no paylines on Forge of Wealth as it’s a scatter pays slot. This means that all that’s required to achieve a win is for a minimum of eight of the same symbols to appear on the grid during the same spin, and they don’t need to be connected in any way. Any symbols involved in a winning combination will be removed from the reels and replaced by other random symbols that drop from the top of the grid in classic cascading reels fashion.
There are four multiplier slots located on the grid at all times. These are located on the 2nd and 4th row positions on both the second and fourth reels. During any spin, if a symbol that has landed on top of one or more of these positions is involved in a winning combination, that position will become active, signified by the gold border around it. Subsequently, any wins involving symbols on top of an active position will award a x2 multiplier. These multiplier values will be summed up and displayed at the bottom of the screen. Once the spin is finished, the total win value will be multiplied by the total multiplier value accumulated.
Three scatter symbols appearing anywhere on the screen during a single game round will trigger the free spins feature, which starts with a minimum of 15 spins.
During this bonus round, the multiplier builds the same way as the base game; however, any accumulated multiplier will not reset between spins, allowing it to build to a potentially high number. Any wins will have the value of the current multiplier applied to them after the spin that they occurred. The bonus can be fully re-triggered by landing at least three scatter symbols during any single spin.
Forge is Wealth is a visually attractive game which includes some very enjoyable gameplay elements. Most pleasing for me was the high value of the symbols on the paytable, with the top symbol returning 100x for 15+ symbols despite there being 30-reel positions. This makes it feel very achievable to hit those top numbers, and once the game's multiplier aspect has been factored in, things look very promising. The base game is good fun and pays regular big wins, like many PG Soft titles, and the bonus round offers more potential but perhaps could have benefitted from a further gameplay addition or tweak to what it has been given through the non-resetting multiplier.
